For music marketing executive Karl Parsons, few things have been as constant in his life as his love for The Alarm. From plastering their posters on his teenage bedroom walls to catching every tour stop he could, Parsons’ admiration for the Welsh rock band has been decades in the making. Now, in a full-circle twist of fate, he’s stepped into a role that fans around the world could only dream of; managing The Alarm 2.0.
“I still have to pinch myself sometimes,” Parsons admits with a laugh. “I grew up listening to 68 Guns on repeat [that means going back to the tape deck and rewinding the tape]. I never imagined I’d one day be helping steer the band’s next chapter.”

A Career Built on Passion and Professionalism
Parsons’ journey to this moment wasn’t born purely from fandom. With more than two decades of experience in music marketing and artist development, he’s worked with a wide range of acts including working with Mike Peters himself, helping both emerging and established artists navigate an ever-changing industry.
That mix of industry expertise and lifelong enthusiasm caught the attention of The Alarm’s inner circle when the band began reimagining its creative direction in the wake of lineup changes and a renewed focus on legacy and innovation, now branded as The Alarm 2.0.
“When the opportunity arose, Karl wasn’t just a fan he was the right person for the job,” says Founder band member Eddie Macdonald. “He understands where we came from and where we want to go.”
Reimagining a Legacy
As manager of The Alarm 2.0, Parsons faces the challenge of honoring the group’s rich history while introducing its music to a new generation. His strategy combines digital storytelling, immersive fan engagement, and carefully curated live experiences, all designed to keep the band’s message of resilience and hope alive in a modern context.
“The Alarm has always been about more than just music,” Parsons explains. “It’s about community, energy, and belief. My job is to make sure those values shine through in everything we do in the future.”
The Dream Job with Real-World Demands
Despite the dream-come-true nature of his role, Parsons is candid about the responsibility it carries. “It’s not about being a fan anymore, it’s about being a professional,” he says. “I owe it to the band, the fans, and the legacy to make every decision count.” For someone who once queued for hours to get a front-row view of his heroes, the transition from fan to manager has been surreal and deeply rewarding.
“Every time I talk to Alarm fans,” Parsons reflects, “I’m reminded why I fell in love with this music in the first place. Now I get to help keep that fire burning. That’s the greatest honor of all.”

Good luck Karl, I know you will do a great job mate!!! Looking forward to seeing 2.0 in NYC and maybe in the UK :)
